4. Aladdin
Animated musical fantasy film Aladdin lands at number 4 on our list of 10 Legendary Films That Turn 25 In 2017. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, it was based on the Arab folktale by the same name from One Thousand and One Nights and the French interpretation (Les Mille et Une Nuits) by Antoine Galland. Revolving around a street urchin by the name of Aladdin who finds a magic lamp containing a genie, the film told the story of how he disguised as a wealthy prince to hide the lamp from the Grand vizier and to impress the Sultan and his daughter Jasmine. Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Jonathan Freeman and Linda Larkin lend their voices for this film, which went on to become the highest-grossing film of 1992, earning more than $504 million at the box-office. It also spawned two sequels, a TV series by the same name, video-games, toys, spin-offs, live-action remake and a Broadway adaptation. It won 2 Oscars from five nominations – Best Original Score and Best Original Song for A Whole New World.
