2. K2 (Height: 8,611 m)

Part of the Baltoro Karakoram range, both Pakistan and China have a disputed claim over K2. The mountain was conquered in 1954. Also known as Mount Godwin-Austen or Chhogori, the mountain has the second tallest peak after Everest. Sometimes referred to as the Savage Mountain, it is a difficult mountain to ascend, and in fact, it has the second-highest fatality rate with one person dying in every four. It is worth noting that no one has ever been able to climb the mountain during winter.
